OpenITP Hires Rockin Digital Ladies Eleanor Saitta and Sandra Ordonez

An organization is only as good as its people. This is why we are thrilled to announce the hire of Eleanor Saitta as Principal Security Engineer, and Sandra Ordonez as Outreach Manager - two busy ladies with amazing track records.

Saitta will direct the OpenITP Peer Review Board for open source software and working on adversary modeling. Ordonez will be part community manager, part storyteller, helping cultivate and grow the OpenITP community. A little bit about each:

eleanor saittaEleanor Saitta is a well-respected security expert who has provided consultation to major Fortune 500 companies across the globe. She specializes in complex system failures, security and risk analysis, and cryptography. Since 2003 she has been researching the Trike Threat Modeling methodology, a unified conceptual framework for security auditing  that distinguishes itself from other methodologies by its high level of automation, a defensive perspective, and high degree of formalism. She is also a self-identified hacker, designer, artist, writer and barbarian.

Saitta also serves as the Technical Director at the International Modern Media Institute (IMMI), a member of the advisory board at Geeks Without Bounds (GWoB), and works on occasion as a Senior Security Associate with Stach & Liu.  She is a founder of the Constitutional Analysis Support Team (CAST), previously co-founded the Seattle-based
Public N3rd Area hacker space, and works on the Trike and Briar projects.

sandra ordonezAn early 90's web graduate, Sandra Ordonez is a self-proclaimed web astronaut who specializes in digital strategy and community management. She served as Wikipedia's first "professional" Director of communications and has been part of various open source and web communities. She has conducted over 350 expert interviews on the future of journalism, social media, and collaboration. Currently, she serves as director of Girls in Tech NYC and board member for Joomla, one of the top three open source CMSs in the world. She regularly contributes to publications such as PBS Mediashift .  Sandra lives in Brooklyn spends her time updating her Virgins of NY Tumblr. She graduated from American University in 1997 with a double degree in International Relations and Public Communication. She can be found on Twitter @Collaboracion
